Cumming City Center June Events: Your Guide to What’s Next

by Cherie Edmunds Sullivan

With summer in full swing, Cumming City Center is buzzing with activity. The amphitheater, green spaces and restaurants host a mix of concerts, family festivals, fitness classes and social meetups that capture the community spirit of Forsyth County. Below are the upcoming events after June 19, so you can plan ahead without wading through past dates.

Concerts & Live Music

Stereo FM (June 19): Kick off the weekend with Stereo FM, a band made up of elite musicians with backgrounds ranging from national tours to television and film credits. Their collective vocal range is one of the group’s biggest strengths, and every member can handle multiple styles. Shows in the Summer Concert Series at the Lou Sobh Amphitheater offer free admission and parking; guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, while outside food and drinks are prohibited.

Slippery When Wet – Bon Jovi Tribute (June 20): The following night, the Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute takes the stage at 8 PM. The band recreates live arrangements from Bon Jovi’s Crush, Bounce, Have a Nice Day, Lost Highway and Circle tours. It’s one of the most searched Bon Jovi tribute bands on the internet. Admission and parking remain free, but remember to leave coolers, glass bottles and outside alcohol at home.

The LeFevre Quartet (June 26): On Friday night, June 26, the amphitheater hosts this acclaimed gospel group. The LeFevre name has guided gospel music for more than a century, and the quartet formed in 2005 quickly became a fan favourite; within a year they were named Horizon Group of the Year and later earned multiple Dove Award nominations. Their performances blend stellar vocals, high‑energy arrangements and a ministry focused on hope and grace.

Guardians of the Jukebox (June 27) – Saturday night brings a nostalgia trip through the 1980s. Aptly described as “a visual and sonic highlight reel of one of the most influential decades in music history,” Guardians of the Jukebox call themselves a sonic time machine. Expect high‑energy performances of hits by Toto, Hall & Oates, Depeche Mode, Lionel Richie and more. As with other concerts in the series, admission is free and outside food or drink is not allowed.

Community Service & Markets

Georgia Blood Drive (June 20, 3 – 8:30 PM): Before the Bon Jovi tribute, the Allo Hope Foundation, Cumming City Center and LifeSouth host a blood drive by the fountain. The drive honours Josie Anne Luevano, whose life was cut short because she didn’t receive needed transfusions. Organisers note that the American Red Cross has declared an emergency blood shortage and encourage donors to help save lives. If you can’t donate in person, you can contribute to the foundation’s fundraiser.

Cumming Farmers Market (June 27, 7 – 11 AM): The weekly market sets up in the Vision Parkway parking lot at the City Center. Shoppers will find farm‑fresh produce, locally raised meats and honey, homemade breads and desserts, handmade crafts and potted plants. Parking is available along Vision Parkway, but the main street, amphitheater and putting course areas remain off‑limits during the market.

Family & Kids’ Activities

Hooray for Jump Day (June 24, 1 – 7 PM): Every Wednesday through July, the City Center partners with Jump N Jacks Moonwalks for an afternoon of bounce houses, water slides and games. Admission is $10 per child.

Slide Into Sundays (June 28, 12 – 8 PM): On select Sundays the green space transforms into a giant play zone with inflatables and water slides. The price is $10 per child, making it an affordable way to beat the heat.

Slicey Summer Camp (June 24, 11 AM – 12:30 PM): SliceAbility’s staff host a mini‑camp on Wednesdays featuring hands‑on pizza‑making and kid‑friendly activities. Pair this with Jump Day for a full afternoon of fun. (Note: this event comes from the City Center bulletin board and may not have a dedicated event page.)
